Mostly, Namibia has a subtropical desert climate characterised by great differences in day and nighttime temperatures, low rainfall and overall low humidity.
Namibia experiences winter and summer at opposite times as Europe and North America and they correspond to the Dry and Wet seasons.
Rainy Season
The main rains in Namibia occur between January and March and during this time you may encounter brief afternoon downpours (usually and hour or so), these are more intense in the Northern regions, but heavy showers can also be experienced through most of the interior.
Humidity can be high during periods of high rain, particularly in the north. Flash floods are also very common in most areas.
